Sonny Wainwright is the proud owner of Made in the Shade Kerrville. After spending 20 years in the petroleum industry as a process technician, Sonny sought a new path—one that would allow him to spend more time with his family while building something meaningful in his community. In 2021, he opened Made in the Shade Santa Fe, and in 2024, Sonny made the exciting decision to bring the business to the beautiful Texas Hill Country.
What drew Sonny to Made in the Shade was the opportunity to create a successful business with the flexibility to enjoy life’s most important moments. The outstanding franchise support, combined with advice from fellow owners, made joining the MITS family an easy choice.
Sonny and his wife, Vanessa, have been happily married for 25 years. They are the proud parents of three wonderful sons, two grandsons, and a granddaughter, all of whom they cherish. Whether they’re traveling or relaxing at the local wineries in Fredericksburg, Sonny and Vanessa love spending quality time with their family.
Outside of work, Sonny enjoys the outdoors. An avid hunter and fisherman, he finds inspiration in nature, which influences the kind of service he provides to his clients—honest, detailed, and always committed to helping them love where they live.
